With Nextcloud, your files, calendars and contacts live on a server you control. You access them in the browser, on your computer and on your phone, much like Dropbox or Google Drive, just without a big provider in between.

From practice
For my own project CardRebels, Nextcloud runs in Docker behind Nginx Proxy Manager, together with Vaultwarden and Uptime Kuma.

What it costs
The first call is free. After that you get a quote: a fixed price for the project or billed by the hour from €75. As a small business under § 19 of the German VAT Act, I do not charge VAT.

Do I need my own server for this?
Yes, Nextcloud runs on your own server or VPS. If you don't have one yet, I set it up as well.
Can I use Nextcloud on my phone?
Yes. There are apps for Android and iOS, and calendars and contacts sync via CalDAV and CardDAV.
Who takes care of updates and backups?
I set up backups during installation. If you like, I take care of updates and backups after handover too.
